Abstract:
To survey the existing educational resources of Kenya and to advise the Government of Kenya in the formulation and implementation of national policies for education which—
(a) appropriately express the aspirations and cultural values of an
independent African country;
(b) take account of the need for trained manpower for economic development
and for other activities in the life of the nation;
(c) take advantage of the initiative and service of regional and local
authorities and voluntary bodies;
(d) contribute to the unity of Kenya;
(e) respect the educational needs and capacities of children;
(/) have due regard for the resources, both in money and in personnel, that are likely to become available for educational services; and (g) provide for the principal educational requirements of adults; and to report to the Minister for Education.
